Ames 40-Year Team: Sengbusch Goes from Gridiron to Nuclear Lab

Evan Sengbusch, the 2003 Ames High Graduate and football captain, is now the Vice President of Phoenix Nuclear Labs. Evan said that he has never imagined his life would turn out this way, but he thinks the nuclear field is what he wants to pursue. It is his work at the nuclear lab and his physics degree that he is named as a scholar-athlete for the 40-year Ames football team.

PNL Awarded One Million Dollar Grant

Phoenix Nuclear Labs Successfully Tests Explosive Detection System

Phoenix Nuclear Labs (PNL) announced today that it has successfully completed preliminary testing of an explosives detection system funded by the US Army. PNL’s neutron-based interrogation system is capable of detecting so-called “undetectable explosives” because it detects the explosive material itself rather than specific chemical signatures or other associated components such as metallic casing or triggering mechanisms.

Phoenix Nuclear Labs Meets Neutron Production Milestone
